SAFC Ladies pick up first corporate sponsor
Sunderland’s Bridges shopping centre has come on board as the first corporate supporter of SAFC Ladies Football Club.
The agreement between the centre and the club will see players involved in a range of activities at the Bridges in the coming season.
SAFC Ladies has gone from strength to strength in recent years, including winning the FA Women’s Super League 2 last season which promoted the team to the top tier in women’s football.
Andy Bradley, centre director of the Bridges said:“We are absolutely delighted to be supporting SAFC Ladies,
“The team is doing a fantastic job putting Sunderland on the map in the world of women’s football and as the leading shopping centre in the area we wanted to help celebrate their success.
“We look forward to also welcoming them for some retail therapy when they’re off the pitch.”
The agreement will see the Bridges enjoy a range of rights and benefits including their logo placed on SAFC Ladies media channels and backdrops, signed merchandise and player sponsorship.
Sonia Kulkarni, General Manager of SAFC Ladies, said “It’s fantastic for us that the city’s leading shopping centre has come on board as our first official corporate supporter,” she said.
“And we look forward to working closely with them in the future.”
Samantha Czwordon-Wright, marketing manager added: “this is an excellent result for both the Bridges and the ladies team.”
“ Becoming an official supporter was not difficult decision to make, because not only does it prove how mainstream women’s football is, but it also proves the importance of women in sport as a whole,“
“And we’re delighted we’re able to play our part in getting the message out there.”
