Castlegate Shopping Centre Nominated For Prestigious Award
CASTLEGATE Shopping Centre has been nominated for a prestigious award celebrating their community relations brand ’Hampers from the Heart.’
Recognising excellence in shopping centre marketing, Stockton-based Castlegate have been nominated for ‘Cause Related Marketing’ at the prestigious British Council of Shopping Centre’s (BCSC) Purple Apple Marketing Awards.
Shortlisted against some of the UK’s leading shopping centres, Castlegate’s community relations work was launched in autumn 2013 as part of their brand proposition ‘Heart of the Community’ supporting local communities through its partnership links to local charities, community groups and private partners.
Campaigns such as Open Kitchen and Castlegate Community Carnival have helped raise over £50k in both donations and goods in kind.
The BCSC’s ‘Cause Related Marketing’ award recognises innovative marketing campaigns created from a partnership between the shopping centre and not-for-profit organisations that demonstrate real tangible objectives and help benefit both parties.
Karen Eve, Centre Manager, commented: “The Purple Apple Marketing Awards are the highest accolade you can wish to win in retail and to be shortlisted at this stage and receive national recognition is fantastic for Castlegate.
“The nomination also acknowledges Stockton’s community collaboration among our many town partners and volunteers including Boots, M&S, Yorkshire Bank and Santander who have all contributed to our ‘Hampers from the Heart’ campaigns.”
Award winning shopping centre Castlegate were title winners of both the Teesside and North East ‘Heart of the Community’ awards and the 2014 NE Business Awards and title winners of the Gold Award at the CIPR NE PRide Awards in recognition of their community giving.
Castlegate find out at the respected BCSC’s Purple Apple Marketing awards at a glittering London dinner if they are lucky enough to bring the award back home next month.
