Kendal-based Byrom’s Furnishings buy retail outlet with RBS loan
Kendal-based Byrom’s Furnishings has purchased one of its retail outlets in the town as part of its expansion plans with the help of a Royal Bank of Scotland loan facility.
The company is a family run business offering upholstery, bedroom and dining room furniture, beds and flooring covering.
The Wildman Street store has now been purchased outright with the financial assistance of RBS and will allow for some alterations and modifications to take place to the premises.
Nigel Byrom has been leading the business for over 30 years after taking over from his late father.
Nigel’s grandparents set the business up in 1934.
His son Aaron, who will be the fourth generation of this family business, will soon step into Nigel’s shoes.
Managing partner of Byrom’s Furnishings Nigel Byrom, said: “The Byrom name has been a household name in Kendal for over eighty years and is set to continue when I step back from the business and hand over the responsibility to my son, Aaron, who will be the youngest Byrom in generations to run the business.
“We are very grateful to our loyal customers for their continued support and our investment in Kendal cements our future commitment to the town.
“RBS has supported us for many years and our relationship manager, Mandy Pearson, has provided superb help and guidance which we are truly grateful for.
“I look forward to Aaron working in partnership with Mandy on our future growth plans and leveraging her experience as he takes over the helm.”
Local relationship manager at RBS, Mandy Pearson, said: “Byrom’s Furnishings is a great example of a local company utilising bank funding to secure the future of their business.
“I wish Nigel and Aaron continual success as they take advantage of the increasing opportunities that will further enhance their business.”
