Manchester-based interior specialist expand creating 10 more jobs

A Manchester-based interior architecture firm, Spacezero, will expand relocating from Lloyd Street to larger premises in the city centre and recruit up to 10 more people.

The firm, founded by Wayne Taylor and Philip Gardner in 2009, is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) specialist and has secured and completed more than 200 education and healthcare projects with over 100 generated using BIM.

The announcement follows a raft of major contract wins and 17 staff appointments in as many months.

Having achieved £2.2m turnover in 2014, Spacezero is aiming for £5m in 2015 - its 6th year in business.

Founder Wayne Taylor said: “It’s been an extremely busy quarter and we now find ourselves at the point where we need to relocate to allow us to increase the size of our team or risk turning business away.

“Confidence in the market is on the up and combined with the number of projects being brought forward thanks to enhanced government funding, which has created a renewed demand for inspiring interior architecture.

“Challenged refurbishment budgets in the education sector in recent years have caused a shift of emphasis and demanded an innovative use of interior design, which is something we have been able to capitalise on by creating exciting, design driven and technically delivered spaces.”
