Queen’s Kitchen opens in former pub in Salford

A new cafe is opening on the site of a former pub located on the East Lancs Road.

The Queen’s Kitchen is opening on the site of former Queens Arm pub in Boothstow, Worsley following a six-figure funding deal with NatWest.

The historic pub located on Chaddock Lane has been converted into a commercial unit for four businesses.

The site is already home to popular Indian restaurant Amans and Elite Digital Systems.

A total of 50 people are employed by the businesses.

Paul Duncanson owns the site and plays an active role within the businesses located on it.

He said: “The Queen’s Kitchen is an ideal location for people making journeys between Manchester and Liverpool who want to stop for a quick break to enjoy a drink and good food. “The name also celebrates the building’s legacy as a pub which people who live locally know. “When I purchased the site a couple of years ago I had plans to start a café like the Queen’s Kitchen so seeing it all come to fruition is exciting.

“My business banking with NatWest goes back 18 years and obtaining funding for this project has been simple and easy.”

The Queen’s Kitchen is due to open for business on Monday, April 13.

Coronation Street cast members attended a grand opening celebration on Sunday, April 12.

NatWest relationship manager Cheryl Mills said: “I was delighted to support Paul with the opening of the Queen’s Kitchen.

“Paul has been committed to making the former pub into a hub for his enterprises and has created several good businesses.

“I wish him every success with his latest venture.”
