Havas PR in Manchester win Danone contracts
Havas PR’s Manchester office has won two contracts from Danone to support its Eat Like A Champ national awards scheme and its sponsorship of a new exhibition at the Science Museum in London.
The Eat Like A Champ national awards ceremony was hosted at the museum by TV presenter Helen Skelton.
Over 400 children from schools across the UK attended the event which recognised the best work produced by schools taking part in the Eat Like A Champ educational programme.
The ceremony coincided with a new exhibition sponsored by Danone at the Science Museum, looking at the science behind ‘food cravings’ and the relationship between diet, the brain and the human body.
Havas PR UK has been tasked with publicising the awards themselves and the sponsorship of the cravings exhibition.
The commission is the second brief this year to be awarded by Danone to Havas PR UK.
The agency has also been appointed to manage national PR for the Danone Nations Cup in England.
The Danone Nations Cup is the world’s biggest football tournament for 10-12 year olds. Two and a half million children, from 32 different countries take part in the competition, which this year culminates in a world final being held in Morocco.
In the UK alone, over 4,000 schools take part in the tournament.
This is the second year Havas PR UK has been retained by Danone to support the competition.
The account team is being headed up by board director Nigel Hughes.
He said: “Eat Like A Champ and the Danone Nations Cup are two of Danone’s flagship CSR initiatives.
“They really do inspire the young people who take part in them, which makes the PR campaigns hugely rewarding for the Havas PR UK team members that work on them.”
Havas PR UK has offices in Manchester, Edinburgh and London. Other clients include Asda, Greggs, Pets at Home, Maplin, Debenhams and JD Williams.
