Spire Manchester employees rewarded for outstanding service

Spire Manchester, a leading private hospital within the Spire Healthcare group, is rewarding two of its staff members who have been voted 2015 Employees of the Year.

Suzanne Egan, a bariatric nurse from Timperley, and Riza Bakir, a hospital administrator from Leigh, were nominated by their peers and colleagues. The hospital chose to offer two commendations to cover both the clinical and non-clinical workforce.

Suzanne, who has been working with Spire Manchester for 14 years, has been recognised for continually going above and beyond her job role, always providing the patients of Spire a welcoming service, and ensuring they are as comfortable as possible during their time at the hospital.

On achieving the recognition, Suzanne commented: “It was lovely to receive the award, I felt very privileged to think my work colleagues had nominated me. My relationship with my work colleagues and care I give to my patients is of upmost importance to me.”

Riza, who has been with Spire Manchester since 2012, has been rewarded for his hard-working approach and strong work ethic. From starting his career in medical records, Riza promptly progressed to his role of administrator and then to co-ordinator whilst covering a staff member’s maternity leave. Riza always approaches his work with a smile and a nothing-is-too-much attitude.

Commenting on his achievement, Riza said: “It was quite unexpected news but it felt great and I was very honoured. Some of the comments made about myself were very moving and have given me a boost for 2015 to keep my focus on delivering a great service to our patients as well as internal and external colleagues.”

Chris Chadwick, Hospital Director of Spire Manchester, commented: “We believe strongly that our staff represent and encompass everything Spire Healthcare is about, so rewarding our employees who go above and beyond these expectations is our way of saying thank you.

“Our patients are our number one priority so it is essential that we give them a consistently high level of service. With staff like Suzanne and Riza who have consistently delivered a dedicated and friendly service putting patients at the forefront of their actions at all times, we deliver an outstanding service across the hospital.”

Both Suzanne and Riza received a prize package which included retail vouchers and a hamper.
