Alternative Futures Group makes mental health awards shortlist
North West charity Alternative Futures Group (AFG), the current UK Charity of the Year, has been shortlisted in two categories for the Mental Health Voluntary Sector Awards 2015.
The awards organised by the Mental Health Providers Forum (MHPF) aim to highlight the best in service delivery and practice for people with mental health issues.
AFG, which supports more than 1200 people with mental health conditions or who have a learning disability across the North West, is hoping for success in the Integration, for their partnership working with Warrington CCG and Personalised Care categories.
Mike Smith, Clinical Director from Alternative Futures Group said:
“We’re proud of our record of delivering positive outcomes for people we support across the region.
“To be shortlisted is recognition in itself but to actually win an award would be a real boost to the organisation and the dedicated people who work for us.”
Lear Rothwell, Business Development Director at Alternative Futures Group has been working with MHPF and showcasing some of the charity’s successes in the region through effective partnerships with local NHS providers and housing partners. She said:
“Having worked with MHPF, I know how highly regarded it is by the Department of Health and other agencies.
“It has been very successful in getting mental health issues onto the agenda. These awards give recognition to some of the pioneering projects around the country and we’re delighted to be involved and to help highlight them.”
The event takes place at The Kia Oval, Surrey County Cricket Club in London on Wednesday 22nd April.
