Bury-based The Vacuum Pouch Company secure RBS funding and see turnover rise
Bury-based family run vacuum packaging business, The Vacuum Pouch Company, has announced that it has seen growth during the last 12 months with annual turnover expected to increase from £3.7m to £4.3m.
The 16% increase comes as a result of heightened demand for their products from food producers looking to seal produce to increase expiry dates.
The company has also recently secured a funding deal with The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
The deal will help the business to set up its own manufacturing facility at its current site, financing the cost to purchase machinery.
The new manufacturing facility will enable The Vacuum Pouch Company to produce certain lines in house, increasing supply to customers which should help the business to achieve its goal of hitting £6m turnover in the next three years.
Founded by Chris McCormack in 1988, The Vacuum Pouch Company is now also run by Chris and his son Adam McCormack.
The company operates from a state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Walshaw, employing ten members of staff.
Director of The Vacuum Pouch Company, Adam McCormack, said: “Business has been really positive over the last few years and I am thrilled with the growth we have achieved.
“We plan to continue to focus on expansion, aiming to increase turnover to £6m by the end of 2018.
“Setting up our own manufacturing plant is a key element of our growth strategy and we are really pleased with the funding we have received from RBS which has helped to support this.”
Senior relationship manager at The Royal Bank of Scotland, Gavin Elmes, said: “We are really pleased that we have been able to support Adam and Chris with funding.
“Their growth strategy is excellent and the results they have achieved in recent years speak for themselves.
“The company has built up an enviable reputation for product development and innovation and has many long standing customer relationships and strong partnerships with manufacturing partners which all contribute to its success.”
