Construction begins at Spire Healthcare’s flagship hospital

Spire Healthcare has started construction of its newest private hospital in West Didsbury. The state-of-the-art development is due for completion in early 2017 and will be a flagship hospital for the leading private hospital group.

Spire Manchester’s new hospital will be equipped to undertake a significantly enhanced range of services, including highly complex surgery and medicine through a large and fully functioning Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) together with advanced diagnostic and imagery equipment. The new hospital will also have hydrotherapy, a hybrid theatre and a 150 seat education centre.

Chris Chadwick, Hospital Director at Spire Manchester Hospital, commented:

“Today marks the first step in the construction process for this flagship development, which represents a significant investment by Spire Healthcare. The new hospital will bring new Spire services to the people of Manchester and surrounding areas, plus a focus on research and education. We expect the new hospital to provide employment and economic benefits to the local area from this great new venture.”
