Sunderland tech company to rocket with Google support

A Sunderland-based software company is working alongside the best in the business after being accepted onto a coveted Google Launchpad bootcamp.

Geek Talent, the world’s first social network recruitment platform, is at Google’s state-of-the-art Campus in London this week for five days of intensive training and mentoring from the search engine giants.

The highly-competitive course, which runs in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Tel Aviv and London, sees 15 of the most promising tech start-ups in the UK guided through and intensive programme covering product strategy, business development, user interface and marketing sessions delivered by senior Google and external experts.

The course is designed to help early stage businesses achieve rapid growth.

Geek Talent was launched in 2014 and is the worlds-first social network recruitment platform that uses a person’s social media connections to locate highly-skilled people who are available for work and shows you the best way to connect to that person- cutting out the need for expensive recruitment processes.

Founder Dominic Murphy hopes the Google Launchpad will help Geek Talent launch nationally: “Google Launchpad is an excellent opportunity for us to breakdown our business and commercial model with the help of some of the most experienced technical consultants in the world and vastly accelerate the growth of the company.

Since its launch last year Geek Talent has secured a number of corporate clients who are using the company’s unique software to recruit staff in specialist areas such as engineering, science and technology and expect to create four new jobs at their Sunderland Software Centre offices this year.

The company recently recruited Chris Lacey as a Junior Developer.
