Third Royal Recognition for Oil and Gas Recruitment Specialist

UK based specialist recruitment agency, Oil Consultants Ltd, has won its third Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in six years. This award comes on the back of skills shortages in the global oil and gas industry.

The £31m company was formed in 1999 by oil industry workers who spotted an opportunity in the market. With international sales of over £26m it now provides individuals and teams of technical personnel to clients in over 95 countries. In the past three years the company has implemented an ambitious growth plan that has seen it double staff numbers and turnover as well as establishing operations in Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Trinidad, the United Arab Emirates as well as within the United States of America.

Helen Smith, Chief Executive, said “We are absolutely thrilled to have been given this award – it is a huge credit to all our staff who work so hard to support our clients and consultants. To have received the award for a third time is an outstanding achievement and one which we are extremely proud of. The award for international trade is given to companies who have demonstrated substantial and sustained growth in international sales over the last three years.

“Our success is due largely to the levels of customer care we offer along with the very specialist knowledge and service we have developed for the international oil and gas industry. Our understanding of our client’s business has enabled us to develop a rapid response, yet extremely high quality service, where we can place consultants globally at very short notice. Our 24/7 service means that clients can contact us whenever they need us, which is extremely important as we work in multiple time zones all around the world for clients working both on and offshore.

The company now has in excess of 30,000 registered consultants and is continuing to implement its international development plans during 2015. Helen concluded “In most instances we require our consultants to have at least four years’ experience in their discipline, so to have so many registered with us is a reflection of the level of service we provide to our consultants as well as our clients.”
