Clarke Energy secures new international deal with GE

Merseyside-based Clarke Energy has signed an agreement with US giant General Electric (GE) to become its first authorised distributor with responsibility for stationary power generation for diesel sales and services in Australia, Nigeria and India.

The deal comes as GE is expanding its reciprocating engines technology offer internationally.

Darryl Wilson, vice president and chief commercial officer for GE’s Distributed Power business, GE Power and Water, said: “Our new agreement with Clarke Energy will strengthen our ability to meet the growing demand for distributed power in Australia, Nigeria and India, particularly in various industrial sectors.

“Having a reliable and respected company like Clarke Energy as our authorized distributor helps ensure our customers receive the best possible service after they purchase our diesel generator set. The life-cycle service support the engines receive from the first moment of start-up is a crucial element of our commitment to our customers.”

The deal marks the latest chapter in Clarke Energy’s relationship with GE’s Distributed Power business.

The company, which has its headquarters in Kirkby, is currently an authorized distributor for Jenbacher gas engines sales and services in key growth regions including Australia, Nigeria and India.

Prior to signing its new agreement, Clarke Energy already had been supporting GE’s diesel expansion strategy. In 2014, GE announced Clarke Energy would supply five of GE’s new 616 diesel engines to Flour Mills of Nigeria plc, representing the first sale globally of the power unit in this application.
