The oldest and newest owners at the award-winning Hollicarrs Holiday Park in Riccall Road, Escrick, near York, will be the guests of honour at a special anniversary next month.
Hollicarrs celebrates its 10th anniversary this year – and will be marking the occasion with an Open Day on Saturday May 9th.

Dawn Buck explained: “We are very proud of what we have achieved in our ten years at Hollicarrs. Our owners love it here – it was only very recently one family said they had cancelled a holiday in Tenerife to be with us this Spring, saying the beauty and tranquillity they enjoyed here was better than anything in the Canaries.”
The holiday park is the brainchild of Charlie Forbes Adam, who manages the Escrick Park estate, of which Hollicarrs is part. Mr Forbes Adam wanted to create an extra special experience for holiday home owners.
He explained: “In everything we do, the environment is of paramount importance and the care and attention put into the planning stage of Hollicarrs was carried through to produce what is seen today. Great care has been taken so as not to disturb the eco-balance existing here.”
This work was recognised when the park was awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation and the 5 Stars VisitBritain Award for an exceptional lodge park, within the first year of opening in 2006, and continues to be held to this day.
Charlie Forbes Adam explained: “Hollicarrs is very private and secure, offering owners a true natural sanctuary to enjoy for years to come. All lodges and holiday homes are well spaced and carefully sited to give each owner full advantage of the peaceful surroundings which really look very special during every season. Ideally located, Hollicarrs is within easy reach of road or rail network and is also very close to the Robin Hood Doncaster and Leeds Bradford airports.
“It is a breath-taking experience entering Hollicarrs and we can boast that our holiday park is simply like no other - a beautiful peaceful natural haven to be enjoyed all year round. It is especially beautiful now, with the bluebells almost in full flow.
“With our 12-month holiday licence, owners are able to enjoy using their holiday home throughout the year, taking full advantage of all the wonderful facilities available, or simply to get away from the stresses and strains of everyday living,” added Mr Forbes Adam.
The Open Day begins at 10.00am and continues until 4.00 pm. Everyone is welcome. There will be demonstration lodges, fully furnished and sited, available for viewing on the day, but almost any type of lodge or holiday home can be purchased from an extensive range, with special offers available for one day only.
