Manchester sight specialist invests £1m into new procedure
Manchester-based Freedom Vision, a sight correction specialist, has launched Preceyes, a surgical procedure to treat cataracts and reduce reliance on spectacles.
Over £1m has been invested in developing the specialist sight correction facility, which offers previously unavailable levels of precision and accuracy by combining advanced laser technology with surgical skill.
The new technology combines the precision of laser guided cataract surgery with the accuracy of an intraoperative wavefront guided lens implant selection, resulting in more exact visual outcomes for patients. The treatment costs £3,750 per eye.
Mr Anil Pitalia, lead ophthalmic consultant surgeon at Freedom Vision, said “I’m very happy to be able to offer Preceyes treatments, as the combination of laser surgery with intraoperative abberometry gives patients so many advantages that simply aren’t available with traditional cataract or lens exchange surgery.
“Whilst Freedom Vision is the only facility to offer Preceyes I foresee that other providers will start providing similar treatments soon, as ultimately this is the future of cataract surgery and sight correction.”
