May Bank Holiday music at The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse at Rockliffe Hall has a weekend of live entertainment for this May Bank Holiday.

As the restaurant launches its new spring menu, Friday night will see well-known North East singer and guitarist Val Boyers return to The Clubhouse and, on Saturday, singer/songwriter Jamie Farrell will perform his acoustic set. And to accompany Sunday lunch, popular local guitarist Brian Dales will showcase his unique style playing everything from Snow Patrol to Frank Sinatra between 12 and 3pm.

Paul O’Hara has recently taken over as head chef at The Clubhouse and has launched a new menu featuring dishes such as ham hock and parsley terrine; smoked salmon Scotch egg; cheese soufflé; venison wellington; and steak and black truffle burger as well as favourites including its fish and steak grills, Ploughman’s Lunch, fishcakes, sticky toffee pudding and warm chocolate and banana bread pudding.

The Clubhouse specialises in gastro-pub style comfort food and serves food all day, from breakfast through to evening meals as well as its popular Sunday lunch.

As a special addition for the spring, the restaurant now has its own Rockliffe Real Ale due to popular demand from beer drinkers.

Paul O’Hara, who has been with Rockliffe Hall for several years and trained with Terry Laybourne at Café 21 in Newcastle, said: “The Clubhouse has been given something of a new lease of life as we roll out our new menus, live music and the new real ale. We’re lucky in that we have not only great, home-cooked food and talented musicians joining us but we also have fabulous views across Rockliffe Hall’s grounds and golf course.”
