Pedaling to an Economic Future
Profound are now working with b-spokes, a specialist in pedal powered solutions based in York!
Due to their high reputation in the taxi industry, Profound Services were introduced to b-spokes in 2014 to assist the company with training and funding needs to operate their Rickshaws around the York area.
b-spokes are the UK’s largest specialist in pedal powered solutions. Their hub in York provides a specialised, high-impact, eco-friendly solution to travel in and around York city. Their ethos is to create a more sustainable future and use pedal power to help reduce carbon emissions.
A Rickshaw is a three-wheeled passenger car pedalled by one man. So far this year b-spokes have helped to save approximately 15.75 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions!
Rickshaw drivers have to go through the same application and training process as any normal taxi drivers, which is where Profound Services tailored their own Taxi Routeway Course to meet the needs of b-spokes.
Ben Hartop, from b-spokes said “Working with Profound has been of huge benefit to b-spokes as they have given our new Pedicabbers the training and funding they need to obtain their Hackney Carriage licence. Obtaining this licence is not an easy task however the Routeway course that Profound is running for our new Riders supports them through the application process and prepares them for the tests they must take. We are very grateful for the boost Profound has given our recruitment and we look forward to obtaining new Pedicabbers through the Routeway course in the future.”
Profound look forward to working with b-spoke in the future… together they can be ‘People who pedal further’!
