BrewDog to expand in Brighton
Leisure property specialists Fleurets has confirmed it has let the former Blind Tiger site in Brighton to BrewDog.
The property, which has been closed for some time, is located on a prominent site close to University of Brighton Faculty of Arts.
Earlier this month, the Scottish brewer launched Britain’s largest crowdfunding campaign in an attempt to raise £25m to fund its ongoing expansion.
The company, which is based in Aberdeenshire, is asking fans of its brand to buy shares with a minimum investment of £95 for two shares.
Currently, BrewDog exports to 55 countries and has opened 27 bars globally since 2010. Last year, the brewer saw sales increase 64% to £29.6m.
Kate Dowd of Fleurets commented ‘With the lack of sites coming to the market in the city, particularly leaseholds that are free of tie, we are extremely pleased to have secured this site for BrewDog’
BrewDog will now undertake a full and extensive refurbishment of the site prior to opening.
BrewDog’s ‘bar hunter’ Stephen Hogan commented ‘We are hugely excited to finally acquire a Brighton venue as we have been looking here for some time. Brighton’s cool independent vibe along with a growing craft beer scene makes it an incredible place for us to open a new bar.’
