Thomson and First Choice Majorca flights arrive on the Humberside Airport runway
A new programme of flights to Palma, Majorca, with Thomson and First Choice has taken off from Humberside Airport for the first time in four years.
The new flights form part of a summer season programme of holidays departing every Tuesday at 3.30pm until the end of October 2015.
The UK’s largest tour operator’s added this route to ensure customers can fly conveniently from their local airports.
Palma is the capital of Majorca and is considered the gateway to popular sun resorts such as Porto Pollensa and Port Soller.
Karen Switzer, director of Aviation and Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said: “Today marks the start of our new Majorca route allowing customers in the Humberside area to fly direct, right from their doorstep. The introduction of the new route demonstrates our commitment to Humberside Airport and we are delighted to be once again flying from there. Following the success of similar routes across a number of regional airports, we know that the demand is there.
“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and we hope that this move will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”
Deborah Zost, Humberside Airport’s managing director, added: “Thomson and First Choice returning to Humberside is a great vote of confidence for the airport as we welcome back one of the biggest holiday makers in the business. Bookings are strong and we hope the success of this year’s holiday programme will lead to more flights in the future.”
