Doors open at North East business’s Dubai operation
A North East firm has officially launched its first overseas operation in the major Middle East city of Dubai, a move that follows quickly on from its recent expansion in the UK.
Reproflex3, a Cramlington based packaging pre-press print specialist, opened the doors of its newly equipped facility to guests at an open house in April.
The new business, named R3 UAE and located in Dubai’s International Media Production Zone, has been installed to output high-quality printing plates and act as a localised pre-press service to the growing Middle East and Africa (MENA) packaging print markets.
Large commitment has been required to entering a new marketplace, but timing has been key according to Joint Managing Directors Trevor Lowes and Andrew Hewitson:
Mr Lowes commented “we’ve known about the Middle East as a growing market for printed packaging for some time, however we felt that the timing was now right to commit”.
“A move like this has to be calculated” Mr Hewitson added, “but we thoroughly believe that a premium pre-press product and service will be embraced in the MENA region and we look forward to this new chapter in such a positive marketplace”.
The move follows the recent opening of Reproflex3’s third UK-based facility, R3 Bristol, taking the company’s total sites to four. The new sites also represent a ‘hub and spoke’ model of business according to Mr Lowes and Mr Hewitson, with Cramlington now operating as Reproflex3’s global HQ.
