Bradford City aims for 15,000 season tickets in 2015/16 by slashing prices
Bradford City have made a daring move to increase their fanbase with the slashing of season ticket prices by £50 for next season.
Any Bantams fan over the age of 16 will now pay £149 for an adult ticket, which is part of a campaign to achieve 15,000 season tickets for 2015/16.
Now boasting the lowest prices in League One, fans who attend every game at Valley Parade will be charged an average of £6.50 each time.
However, the price of a ticket purchased on the day of a game will increase to £25 and £15, which is part of a strategy to encourage fans to become a season ticket holder.
This ticket-price slashing announcement comes in the midst of the West Yorkshire football club holding discussions with the former Queens Park Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini about a possible takeover.
As the Telegraph & Argusreported, Joint-chairman Mark Lawn said: “We believe we’ll get more fans in – and it might encourage those who say they want to pay more to buy one for someone new to come, like a family member or friend, to help build on what we feel is the best atmosphere in the league.
“The ethos of the club is that we can get more fans and they are part of how we win games. When the fans turn out in numbers, it makes a hell of a difference. We need the fans’ help to get us to 15,000 and I believe we can do that. Perhaps businesses can buy block tickets for their staff.
He added: “We’ve looked at the figures and believe that by doing this we can bring more income into the club. More people will come and spend more around the ground.”
