FTA appoints Visolaris as preferred renewable energy partner
Visolaris is pleased to announce it has been appointed as a preferred renewable energy partner working with the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
Ahead of the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) deadline for compliance of 5 December 2015, Visolaris will be working with the FTA and their member companies to support compliance with ESOS via the Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme (LCRS) requirements, by offering free renewable energy installations.
The strategic partnership provides FTA member companies the opportunity of having a free renewable energy assessment which will produce a bespoke solution for each individual business helping them comply with ESOS. The FTA managed LCRS scheme is the only freight-sector based initiative that records, reports and helps reduce carbon emissions from logistics. LCRS can help companies in scope of ESOS compile the necessary freight transport data for energy audits. Visolaris use the insights from the assessment audits to deliver actual savings and commercial payback to businesses by supplying free solar and wind installations to commercial clients.
The mandatory ESOS energy assessment applies throughout the UK to all large companies with over 250 employees, and audits are required every four years for buildings and transport.
Through the ESOS audit businesses could save up to £1.9bn on energy bills, but with the average audit taking between two to three months to complete businesses need to move quickly to avoid any delays and fines.
Commenting on the partnership Charles Hesketh, managing director of Visolaris said: “We are thrilled to be a preferred renewable energy partner working with the FTA and we’re looking forward to helping numerous businesses save on their energy consumption.
“Completing the ESOS is an extensive job and we are recommending that businesses start the process as soon as they can. Starting the process at the earliest opportunity and implementing the recommended improvements and installations will quickly recover audit costs and maximise the return on investment.”
The FTA’s experience and fully qualified team of transport auditors, along with the experience Visolaris holds in energy reduction solutions will be able to provide specialist audits to ensure members are fully compliant with the ESOS and LCRS requirements, and gain all the benefits that the scheme has to offer.
