Galliford Try reports positive outlook with strong order books

Construction company Galliford Try has reported strong order books with £3.3bn of orders in its construction side of the business.

The company has £982m of sales reserved, contracted or completed across both Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships, slightly lower than the same period last year.

The trading update follows a series of contract wins including its appointment to the North West construction hub, securing £18.2m ofNorth London contracts and securing a£38m Hull and East Ridingeducation contract.

Both businesses are also actively pursuing good land opportunities with the division currently having a record landbank of 15,000 plots.

Executive chairman, Greg Fitzgerald, said: “We are pleased to report all businesses - Linden Homes, Partnerships and Construction - continue to perform well with favourable market demand against a background of continuing challenges on the labour supply side in all sectors.

“The group expects to report full year results in line with analysts’ consensus.

“The construction market is improving and our construction business is seeing growth in the order book, helped further by the benefits of acquiring Miller Construction.

“The improving market has enabled us to secure contracts with appropriate margins.”
