LPG benefits to be showcased at homebuilders’ event
Energy-savvy homebuilders in Scotland will be able to explore the benefits of using LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in their home projects as national supplier, AvantiGas, shares its expertise at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Glasgow SECC from 16th to 17th May.
With so many homeowners now opting for the joys of rural living, households across Scotland are also facing the challenges of their dream homes being without any connection to mainline gas.
AvantiGas supplies LPG across the UK via 15 distribution centres, including an AvantiGas owned terminal in Mossmorran, Fife. It gives customers the advantages of cleaner burning, efficient fuel for properties not connected to mains gas, allowing them to still enjoy the pleasures of a warm home and hot water.
Discovering LPG
Visitors to the AvantiGas stand (number 309) will be able to explore the environmental benefits of choosing LPG while talking to experts about their specific energy needs and how an LPG tank could fit in with their building or renovation plans. AvantiGas will also give visitors advice on the practicalities of managing their LPG supply and which available options would best suit them.
Homebuilders visiting the stand will also be able to take advantage of an exclusive, money-saving, show offer available only to attendees at the SECC. The offer will include the best fixed pricing tariff from AvantiGas and free tank installation to any show attendees who visit the AvantiGas stand. More about the deal will only be revealed when the show opens.
Susan Younger, domestic sales representative for AvantiGas Scotland said: “Some of this region’s most stunning properties are in its vast rural locations and while residents will have unrivalled views and tranquillity, they may also have to deal with the difficulty of sourcing their own gas supply.
“However, using LPG to heat the home or for hot water and use when cooking can have many up-sides. It is much kinder to the environment than other fossil fuels such as oil or coal, making it a green and clean option with no sooty residue and it can be used as the main source of home energy alongside electricity.
“It is also an easy process to switch or set up supply. With AvantiGas’ team of experts and project managers it can be a hassle-free job which can be completed without disruption, leaving you free to concentrate on other aspects of your home improvement project.”
About LPG
Of the two million homes across the UK currently not connected to mains gas, around 150,000 use LPG as an alternative energy source to fuel their homes.
As well as fewer air pollutants, LPG also produces less carbon dioxide than most other fossil fuels which helps to reduce CO2 emissions of a typical house by 1.5 tonnes (about 25 per cent) per year1.
LPG has a higher efficiency (in some cases up to five times) than other fossil fuels and this is due to its high calorific value making it an ideal choice for the UK’s rural homes
