Concept proves a creative hit with Erin

Specialist recruitment company Concept Personnel has strengthened its team with the appointment of new recruitment consultant Erin Kirtley, as it deals with a surge in digital marketing vacancies across the region.

The Newcastle-based business deals in permanent, freelance and temporary contract jobs in the digital, design, marketing and communications sector, working with clients across the North East and Scotland. Erin’s appointment brings team numbers to four at the 13-year old company.

Erin’s background spans digital marketing and account management roles at companies including design agency Cargo Creative and fishing tackle manufacturer SONIK Sports. Her new role will see her switch tack to focus on matching candidates with clients looking to recruit new talent to support the region’s thriving creative businesses.

“I love the creative industry and jumped at the chance to take on new challenges,” said Erin, who lives in Morpeth.

“My new job has given me a different perspective on the creative industry, and I’m really enjoying working alongside the rest of the team interviewing candidates, looking for opportunities that match their career aspirations, and matching their skills and experience with the right client.”

Concept Personnel managing director Jo Carter said: “Erin stood out from the other candidates thanks to her background in both agency and in-house digital marketing roles. Although she has not worked in recruitment before, having hands on experience of the roles and environments into which we place candidates is more valuable to us than years of direct recruitment experience.

“We knew she has the people skills we were looking for too. She has the right personality, empathy with both clients and candidates, plus tenacity and good problem solving and organisational skills.

“The North East is a tight-knit community and the majority of our business comes through recommendation and referrals, so we need the right staff team in place. It has already become clear in the short time Erin has been with us that she is fast becoming a really great recruiter and an asset to the business.”
