Livingstone’s Media & Technology team has advised the shareholders of Javelin Group, a retail strategy consultancy, on its acquisition by Accenture.

Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, and completion of the acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.

Javelin Group, which is headquartered in London and employs around 160 staff, offers a range of strategy services to the retail sector as well as digital technology consulting and systems implementation services.

Tony Stockil, CEO of Javelin Group, explained: “We appointed Livingstone because they demonstrated deep knowledge of our sector, insight into Javelin Group’s business, and relationships with all the key buyers.

“They were tireless in pursuit of our objectives, gave us sound advice throughout, and have delivered us an exceptional outcome in a tightly-managed process.”

Daniel Domberger, Partner at Livingstone London, who led the transaction, commented: “Consumer brands and retailers face enormous opportunities and challenges in adapting to the evolution of digital technologies.

“The acquisition, in an extremely competitive process, demonstrates the value of Javelin Group’s specialist expertise and reflects strong demand for strategy services in the retail market.”
