Queen’s Award for Enterprise Winners

Northumberland-based Eclipse Translations is celebrating its place on the international stage after its parent company RWS Group gained the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

Northumberland-based Eclipse, which has been a member of RWS Group since 2005, conducts well over half of its business in international markets and this is set to grow in the years ahead.

The awards are made annually by HM The Queen and are only given for the highest levels of excellence. Approximately 160 Queen’s Awards have been announced this year for outstanding business achievement in the fields of International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.

Eclipse Translations, managing director, Stuart Carter, said: “As a member of RWS Group we are delighted to share in the success of winning this most prestigious award. From our base in Northumberland, we work with a vast range of clients in Europe, Russia, Asia and the US. High quality translation and interpreting services are in great demand and we can only see this increasing.”

Eclipse employs 30 staff at its Alnwick site and has an extensive network of language specialists around the world. It offers specialist support in over 150 languages, with its key services being translation, interpreting, localisation, subtitling and voiceovers. Key sectors include chemical, pharmaceutical, legal, financial services, defence, manufacturing, government and energy.

RWS Group received the award in recognition of continuous achievement in international trade over six years, trading with 71 overseas markets.
