Contact Centre 33 creates 40 new jobs in Wigan
A company in Wigan is set to expand to create 40 new jobs due to the high performance of its current workforce.
Contact Centre 33 launched their second base in Wigan in October 2014.
The Sheffield-based company, which provides contact centre services for a leading energy company, currently employs 22 at its Wigan site on Standishgate.
Contact Centre 33 director, Paul Fletcher, said: “We have been very successful so far in Wigan and we are looking to expand as a result.
“This is an important milestone for the company. In Wigan there seems to be a lot of people who want to work and there is so much potential here.
“Attendance and performance in the team is great and the quality of customer service is high so we are committed to growing the team here.”
Mr Fletcher said that for every job advertised the company is receiving on average 12 applicants - highlighting people’s willingness to work in Wigan.
Wigan Council’s deputy leader Councillor David Molyneux said: “It’s testament to the performance of the current workforce that Contact Centre 33 wants to expand its operation in Wigan.
“I have huge faith in the quality and willingness of the Wigan workforce to work and perform well.
“I hope this example shows other companies that if they want a committed and dedicated workforce who gets results then Wigan Borough is the place to be.
“At Wigan Council we are 100% committed to growing our economy, creating job opportunities and improving the quality of life for our residents. That’s why we launched Wigan Works.”
The company is currently based in the former council Gateway building and has ambitions to fill it to its capacity of 350 employees.
