Work resumes on Shoreham housing development

As part of a £30m housing regeneration project, William Neville and Sons has resumed work to demolish the former Parcelforce site in Shoreham.

The work on the habour site, which is in Brighton Road, had been suspended in April while the developer sought licence from the Marine Management Organisation, according to the Shoreham Herald.

The licence has now been granted and the project will resume.

A spokesman for Adur and Worthing Councils said: “We expect that the piling should recommence shortly, if it hasn’t already done so, to enable the developers to move the site forward for the town.”

The housing development will have 132 flats, a food shop, commercial space and 150 parking spaces.

Planning permission for the site was approved in June, 2013, subject to more than 30 conditions, including flood-defence work and work to improve the Surrey Hard junction.
