Legal eagle flies flag for North at awards
Harriet Thornton, who works at LCF Law in Bradford, has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious 2015 Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards, known as the ‘ERMAs’. She is the only representative from the North of England, named in either category.
Harriett, who is an Associate Solicitor, has been shortlisted in the Young Professional of the Year and Regional Professional of the Year categories and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 4th June at London’s Globe Theatre. The awards are designed to recognise professional excellence in advising in relation to leasehold properties.
Harriet says: “Leasehold Enfranchisement is a niche area of law. However there is an increasing demand for advice throughout the country due to the increasing numbers of apartment owners who seek help to buy the freeholds of buildings they occupy which were built in the 70s and 80s. Many of these leases are approaching critical dates as the remaining term of the lease reduces.
“Being shortlisted for these awards recognises the work we do at LCF Law and they are a key date in the industry calendar, so to be shortlisted in two categories is a huge coup.
LCF Law is a leading commercial law firm that works with both businesses and private individuals. The long-established firm employs a 95 strong team across offices in Leeds, Bradford and Ilkley.
