CBRE appointed to innovative Leeds business and residential development
The Leeds branch of CBRE has been tasked to market Sweet Street West, a 7.5 acre strategic gateway site in Leeds, on behalf of St James Securities.
Located adjacent to the northern site boundary of Holbeck Urban Village, Sweet Street West is expected to become one of the most dynamic business and residential developments in the UK.
As well as covering an area of 37.5 acres, Holbeck Urban Village is set to create over 5,000 new jobs and attract around £800m in investment.
800,000 sq ft of office space and 2,500 residential apartments will be developed over the next decade.
The large Sweet Street West site already has planning consent for 830 apartments and 250,000 sq.ft of office space in a mixed-use scheme, which will have accessible transport connections to the city and throughout the region.
Mike Gorman, director at CBRE said; “We are launching this site into the market at an exciting time as this is one of the remaining pieces of land suitable for large scale redevelopment in this area of Leeds. In the last 6 months, almost 20 acres of land has been sold around this site which has created a real buzz to this opportunity.”
