Customers’ reviews deliver ‘excellent’ rating for Tees hotel
Dedicated workers at Tees Valley’s largest hotel celebrated today after customer reviews secured them a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award for the fourth year running.
The certificate, awarded to Thistle Hotel Middlesbrough, celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given to venues that consistently achieve great customer reviews.
Damon Roberts, general manager at the four star hotel, said: “Only those venues with outstanding customer reviews receive a Certificate of Excellence so it’s an incredible vote of confidence for the hotel team.
“We always strive to provide the best service possible for our guests and we’re thrilled that so many of them took the time to complete a review.”
TripAdvisor examines the quality, quantity for timescale of reviews when determining whether a venue is worthy of a Certificate of Excellence.
To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor ‘bubble’ rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
Thistle reviewer Len Masterman said: “Went to an old Boro players’ reunion at the hotel and stayed on for a couple of nights. The catering for the dinner was excellent, as were the morning breakfasts. A special word for all of the restaurant staff who epitomised north-eastern friendliness and hospitality.”
Jean C from Salisbury said: “The warm welcome across every part of the hotel, from reception to the restaurant never fails to wow me.”
Marc Charron, president of TripAdvisor for Business, said: “By putting a spotlight on businesses that are focused on delivering great service to customers, TripAdvisor not only helps drive increasing hospitality standards around the world, it also gives businesses both large and small the ability to shine and stand out from the competition.”
