Westfield Health’s Sheffield relocation receives high-profile backing
Westfield Health’s continued business growth and relocation to a prominent Sheffield city centre building is unanimously seen as a positive move, especially since leading city figures have voiced their support.
Paul Bromfield, MP for Sheffield Central, and Sheffield city council leader Julie Dore have backed the not for profit organisation’s plans to relocate its current headquarters.
Paul and Julie’s comments come almost two weeks after Westfield Health secured planning permission from Sheffield City Council to revamp the main entrance to the Charter Row-based Milton House.
The aim is to create a new reception area for the main building, a reception for Westfield Health on the fifth floor and a new customer service call in facility for policyholders at the corner of Rockingham Street/Charter Row.
The organisation initially applied for planning consentearly last month, which followed the purchase of the new headquarters last year.
Work is expected to start this summer, and be completed in the summer of 2016 with the 200 plus staff expected to switch to Milton House shortly after.
Julie Dore, leader of Sheffield City Council, said: “It’s great to see Westfield Health showing their commitment to our city centre and expanding into new and improved premises and I wish them every success for the future.”
Paul Blomfield MP added: “I’d like to congratulate Westfield Health on getting the go ahead for the exciting changes they have in store for Milton House. I’m delighted that such a well-established Sheffield business has committed its future to the city which is also a further boost for the emerging, new look Sheffield city centre.”
