£500k scheme to improve Chorley Old Road to begin
A £500,000 scheme to improve Chorley Old Road will start on 2 June 2015 as part of the council’s borough-wide road maintenance programme.
The project will mean that a significant stretch of the road will be resurfaced running from the junction with Chorley New Road to the junction with Avenue Street.
It is expected that the whole scheme will end by July.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peel, said: “Chorley Old Road is a major route and it is in significant need of improvement.
“While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, this is a major road which is heavily used and we’d encourage people to plan ahead.
“I would like to thank residents, motorists and businesses in advance for their patience and co-operation, and apologise for any inconvenience this work will cause.”
