DV8 Designs reveals revamp of London city pub
A leading North West architecture and interior design practice has carried out an impressive renovation of popular London pub, The Prince Albert.
After being appointed by Town Centre Inns, DV8 Designs performed a series of creative transformations to increase the overall size and interior design of the Peckham-based pub.
In addition to incorporating a rear extension, MD Lee Birchall and his team devised a ‘stripped-back contemporary look’ by combining an ‘edgy rustic colour scheme’ together with harmonising attributes including re-claimed flooring and tiles.
Lee said: “It’s great to further expand our portfolio in London and this venture has enabled us to be even more creative due to its mass scale. Combing the property’s size with its fashionable location, it means that our creative approach has offered something a little bit different for a venue that was once very traditional.
“The aim was to accentuate The Prince Albert’s original rustic charm by tying in a wealth of warm colours consisting of rich brown and grey tones to accompany the unique feature wallpaper - which displays various maps of London. Likewise, we have introduced various timber panelling, exposed brick and a selection of fabric and leather upholstery to offer a multi-texture dimension.“
DV8 Designs, which was established in 2006, has attained high acclaim through its impressive and diverse portfolio that includes residential, bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, swimming pools, spas, golf clubs and offices.
Lee added: “It’s great to have injected a new lease of life into the site by transforming the period building into the modern day. Whilst we have incorporated many current trends, the overall design perfectly balances classic and contemporary pub characteristics.“
