Top five inspiring North West companies
This year we have interviewed lots of North West companies that have had some great ideas and really inspired us.
From startups with a social conscience to businesses that have built themselves up from nothing there really are some amazing companies in the North West. Read on to find out more.
Wicker Wings- A start up with a social mission too. For every bag it sells it provides a bag of books for a child in Asia. Belinda and James Wong are a brother and sister duo who really believe in their brand and the work their ‘like for like’ policy does.
Espirt Tour Services - another entrepreneurial duo who have set up a battlefield tour service, using veterans to give tours of World War One and Two sites in Europe. Esprit works with the Royal British Legion in Manchester and Liverpool to provide the company with potential guides and currently employs 5 people.
Revolver RetailAn idea born out of the popularity of pop up shops. The company provide temporary retail space for a range of companies in the arts, fashion and jewelry sectors avoiding the expense of long term leases.
The Taylor Lynn Corporation started as a business when entrepreneur Liz Taylor had just £200 in the bank, now the company has a turnover of £4m. The success of the brand is thanks to the hard work that Liz has put in over the years and she now employs five people.
Hassle.com has created hundreds of jobs in Manchester and the site has been very popular. It provides cleaners and gives the chance for people to set up their own micro businesses with pay above the industry standard. It has only been available in Manchester for eight months but has really cleaned up!
