North West Startup Season: Toddler Fun Learning
Toddler Fun Learning has been shortlisted in this year’s Virgin ‘Pitch to Rich’ competition, Richard’s Branson’s business investment competition
If the Wirral-based family business makes it through to the next round of the competition, it will be in with a chance of winning a £150k marketing campaign.
Entrepreneurial duo Amalie and Christian Hughes were inspired by their own children for their educational and fun entertainment programme.
Toddler Fun Learning began life as a YouTube channel two years ago. The videos have now been viewed 28 million times globally.
Passionate about educating children in a fun and accessible way, the company makes its revenues via advertising and reinvests all its money into creating more videos.
The company works with four freelance animators and recently Amalie left her marketing manager role for digital agency, Mando Group to concentrate on the business.
Co-founder Christian Hughes told Bdaily: “The biggest challenge for us is cash flow, we have a book full of ideas but we just need the funds to create them all.
“The most enjoyable part is the research, we test all the videos on our own children and if there is something that they don’t like we know we need to make changes.”
Christian says that they entered Pitch to Rich as a happy accident but he admits winning would mean everything to them, the reach that they would have with a £150k marketing campaign would be fantastic and they would love to have more parents know about their work.
