Anaplan unveils innovations at Hub15
As part of Anaplan’s showcase Hub 15 conference, held on May 18 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, CEO Fred Laluyaux unveiled some major product announcements:
- A new enterprise architecture that enables massive scaling of planning applications and data; advanced capabilities to manage the connection of Anaplan planning apps across a company; deeper levels of role-based security; and one-click provisioning of purpose built planning apps.
- Functional integrations with Microsoft Office™, Box and DocuSign, as well as Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Data integrations with MuleSoft and Informatica.
- A new user interface that includes advanced navigation, visualization and collaboration features.
- Over 65 planning applications now available on the Anaplan App Hub.
In front of 1,300 planning professionals, Anaplan customers such as HP, DocuSign, and Tribune Media, discussed how Anaplan has revolutionized planning and performance optimization in their companies.
“HP is committed to making the sales process as seamless and effective as possible for our partners and our internal sales force,” said Sue Barsamian, senior vice president, Indirect Sales, Enterprise Group, HP.
“In the past, we were breaking Excel. Now we use Anaplan to help us manage and optimize resource and sales quota deployment in real-time.”
“As a rapidly growing company with more than 50 million users in 188 countries and more than 50,000 new unique users joining The DocuSign Global Trust Network everyday, we must continually drive scale,” said Eric Johnson, CIO, DocuSign.
“Internally, we’re doing a lot of work to scale our business globally through our own digital transformation, leveraging a cloud-based architecture and providing our employees with world class solutions securely. One area of transformation is the planning process – which used to take weeks or months due to managing multiple spreadsheets and various sources of truth. Anaplan has provided a single source of the truth for planning and has assisted our fast growing global business to scale effectively.”
Laluyaux said Anaplan’s customers in all industries face massive digital disruption, “These companies use Anaplan as a platform that manages their planning complexity at scale and enables them to optimize performance in many different parts of their business in real time.”
Research analysts captured the impacts of the Anaplan announcements in their post-event research notes. Doug Henschen, VP & Principal Analyst, Constellation Research said, “Anaplan is clearly on a roll, annually tripling in size on dimensions including revenue, bookings and number of employees over the last two years. The customer list is impressive, and customer executives here were openly effusive about the agility and flexibility of planning capabilities.[1]”
Albert Pang, president of Apps Run the World, wrote, “The reason Anaplan is growing faster than many of the upstart cloud players seems to be primarily for two reasons: the scalability of its solution that makes it attractive for large enterprise planning needs and its extension into those functional areas beyond finance for integrated business planning.”
Hub15 offered Sales, Finance, Operations & HR, and Platform breakout tracks with sessions featuring speakers from dozens of partners and customers including DocuSign, Informatica and Tribune Media, who presented how Anaplan has solved a wide array of planning challenges for their businesses.
Following Hub15, Anaplan was showcased in the 2015 Internet Trends Report by Mary Meeker of Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers as the platform for Enterprise Planning and Performance Optimization.
Laluyaux said, “This is a definitive recognition of the category that Anaplan has created over the years and is getting so much traction in the market today. What we announced at Hub15 in San Francisco defines the next evolution of this category, and Anaplan is the only player that can execute at this level.”
