Owner’s name to be Sheffield Wednesday’s official 2015/16 kit sponsor
After reaching a new sponsorship deal, the family name of chairman Dejphon Chansiri will be Sheffield Wednesday’s official shirt sponsor for the 2015/16 season.
The Chansiri name will be embellished on the Sheffield Wednesday’s home and away strips for the next campaign, the club recently announced.
Paul Aldridge, The Owls’ vice chairman, said: “We had discussions with a range of high profile companies – some at home and some overseas – but the commitment from Mr Chansiri was overwhelming and the decisive factor.
“Mr Chansiri is a highly successful international businessman and is delighted to further align his name to Sheffield Wednesday as he seeks to raise the profile of the Owls on a global scale.
“The Championship is the fourth most watched division in European football, which generates significant exposure, both nationally and internationally.
“But the biggest platform, of course, is the Premier League and this underlines the desire of Mr Chansiri to take Sheffield Wednesday to the top tier of English football.”
Dejphon Chansiri added: “To see the Chansiri name on our shirts for the first time will be an immensely proud moment and underline how we are part of Sheffield Wednesday and the city of Sheffield.
“Serving as principal shirt sponsor also illustrates to the whole of the football world our total support for this club.
“In addition, it highlights my full commitment and how I wish my family name to go hand in hand with what we all hope will be success for Sheffield Wednesday in the short, medium and long term.”
Wednesday’s 2015/16 kit will be put on sale on Friday 12, June.
