Young salesman scoops new award
A young car salesman who joined Crewe Audi straight from school has scooped a top award from one of the motor industry’s top magazines.
Twenty one year old Josh Bloor has been named a 2015 Motor Trader Rising Star in the title’s inaugural UK search for the next generation of movers and shakers.
The magazine launched the competition earlier this year to find those people already regarded as outstanding talents, with great business acumen who are seen as an inspiration to their peers.
Josh, from Crewe, joined his local Audi dealership straight from school, after deciding sixth form was not for him. He began as a Customer Service Apprentice five years ago, but by grasping every opportunity that came his way is now a trainee sales executive.
“I still can’t quite believe that I have won,” said a thrilled Josh this week.
“It is a real honour to be one of first Rising Stars, and I am so grateful to Crewe Audi for nominating me – I can’t thank them enough for believing in me.
“Not only am I chuffed to bits to win, but it also confirms that I made the right decision when I quit school to start my motors career. I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do.”
Head of Business at Crewe Audi, John Nimbley, added: “Josh is a wonderful young man. He’s thrown himself in to everything he’s been asked to do, so when he asked me if there was an opportunity for a sales trainee role, I knew he would give it his all.
“He’s proved me right, excelling in his new role as he did in his previous position. There is no doubt he will rise far up the career ladder, but, he is a thoroughly nice lad and I can think of few people more deserving of the title Rising Star than him.”
Competition judges said they were looking for hard working, forward looking and ambitious nominees, and after the awards were announced they said of Josh: “Josh is very much the essence of what Rising Stars is all about.
“He joined the business straight from school and has set out to master as many skills as possible. In doing so he has shown immense willingness and eagerness to learn - genuinely an exceptional young man.”
Crewe Audi is part of the family owned and run Swansway Group, who secured a hat-trick of awards in what is set to become an annual competition. Besides Josh, Emma Goodall, Dealership Marketing Manager based at head office in Crewe and Gary Wood, General Sales Manager at Wrexham Volkswagen, were also named as Rising Stars.
Emma has been with Swansway for four years joining as a marketing graduate who spent a day a week at Volkswagen Van Centre Liverpool as part of her work placement, whilst Gary joined Swansway five years ago starting as a sales executive and working his way up through the group to General Sales Manager at Wrexham Volkswagen.
