Approved Vehicle Contracts celebrate ten years

One of the leading figures behind Wolverhampton’s best-known restaurant is celebrating after a second family business hit a major milestone.

Mohammed Khan, one of the owners behind the Michelin-rated ‘Bilash’, is enjoying similar success with Approved Vehicle Contracts after it leased out its 2500 vehicle during the last twelve months.

The landmark deal comes after a string of new orders were secured with local firms and takes place in the company’s 10th year in business.

It represents a 20% increase in annual sales and has driven the creation of two new jobs, with the promise of more to follow.

“When we started the business in 2005, we were doing 50 deals per year and I was handling most of the work myself through personal contacts,” explained Mohammed.

“I was frustrated with the lack of personal service I was getting when looking to arrange fleet contracts. I’m passionate about cars and knew a lot of finance people through contacts with The Bilash so thought why not do it myself.”

He continued: “The marketplace is very saturated and a lot of the best deals can only be found online. What I set out to do was secure competitive rates, and provide people with a higher level of customer service so they felt appreciated and knew they had somebody on the end of the phone who could sort out any questions.

“It’s an approach that appears to be working with the business now currently boasting 2500 live accounts and turnover edging past a record-breaking £1.5m.”

Approved Vehicle Contracts offers cars and light commercial vehicles to business and private users throughout the West Midlands.

Its team of account managers work with clients on developing bespoke plans, whether that is for one vehicle or over a hundred.

Every make and model is available and, in certain cases, the firm has been able to source rare cars, such as a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa, an Aston Martin DB5 and AC Cobra.

“Our fleet deals are saving clients thousands of pounds every year,” continued Mohammed.

“That is why our customer base is growing and currently features local professional firms, manufacturing giants, SMEs and retailers…we even supply a number of Premiership footballers.”

He concluded: “All of them like the fact they don’t have to go to a faceless website for the best possible deals. We source some amazing rates and they get the added bonus of having an assigned member of staff, who works with them from the initial enquiry through to the structure of the deal and the subsequent delivery of their vehicle.”

Approved Vehicle Contacts, which is located on the Waterloo Road in Wolverhampton, is looking to mark its tenth year in business by adding a further £500,000 to its turnover and creating two new jobs.
