Warrington professional shortlisted for Businessman of the Year
Owner of Warrington based DV8 Designs Lee Birchall has been shortlisted as ‘Businessman of the Year’ at the 2015 Warrington Business Awards.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the architecture and interior design industry, Lee was nominated for his efforts in delivering business excellence, in addition to his involvement in community projects.
After beating of stiff competition from across the North West, Lee is one of three candidates in the notable category, and is therefore set to attend an awards ceremony at Lymm Rugby Club on Friday, June 12 whereby all winners will be announced.
Lee said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for this honourable award, as it offers a great sense of pride and achievement in knowing that my efforts have not gone unrecognised.
“Warrington is great place for businesses to grow and excel, as the support from the local community is fantastic. Being based in Birchwood Park means that the team and I are located in such a prime business location, whereby we are able to connect with likeminded local businesspeople as well as those visiting from further afield.“
Founded by Lee in 2006, DV8 Designs has attained high acclaim through its impressive and diverse portfolio that includes residential, bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels, leisure centres, swimming pools, spas, golf clubs and offices. High-profile local projects include Gullivers Theme Park & Hotel and the Jolly Thresher.
Outside of his work life Lee can be found fundraising for a number of local and national charities including Warrington Disability Partnership. Last year, Lee managed to raise more than £1,000 for Cancer Research after participating in an eight-hour sponsored spin-a-thon.
Lee added: “In my spare time I like to give something back to my hometown and the community, whether it be by taking part in charity fundraisers and sponsored runs for instance. I try to take part in charitable work as often as I can - by doing so it certainly gives me the feel good factor.
“Having established DV8 Designs almost ten years ago, I feel really fortunate to have watched the business continue to grow and develop, and to be up for this award really does mean a lot to me. Given the scale of high calibre of award entries, I am delighted to have secured a finalist position.“
The Warrington Business Awards, which are sponsored by HSBC, seek to showcase the best of business in Warrington. The Businessman of the Year category will be judged by Ian Cox, Centre Director of Golden Square and Tony Fulton, Area Director Corporate Banking at HSBC.
