Your Housing Group signs as Cheshire Phoenix Sponsor

Your Housing Group, one of the UK’s largest social housing providers, has announced it will be Cheshire Phoenix Basketball team’s Principal Sponsor for a third year.

Your Housing Group owns and manages approximately 1,400 properties in the Cheshire West region, including Abbot’s Wood, Kingswood and The Windings retirement living villages.

The housing group’s logo will continue to be on the main shirt as well as the away kit and warm up tops. The Group will also receive tickets to the games which will be used to reward and incentivise some of the young residents at the Group’s Foyers, which offer accommodation for vulnerable young people.

Last season Cheshire Phoenix finished fourth in the league, narrowly missing out on making the Play-off Final at the O2 Arena by one shot in the last 10 seconds of the 2nd leg of the semi-final against the London Lions. They won 26 games out of 36 in the league with two players finishing second and third as Most Valued Players in the British Basketball League.

Off the court the team has delivered their Hoops 4 Health community initiative throughout Warrington and Cheshire West to over 40 primary schools and nearly 3000 young people plus their families.

Mike Burton, Chairman of Cheshire Phoenix, said: “We have been very proud to have Your Housing Group’s logo on our shirts for the past two years and it’s great to continue this partnership with an organisation that has such strong community values. Our long term aim is to perform as well as possible on the court as well as growing as a club and engaging with the local community off it.

“We have had a fantastic season playing exciting basketball in front of a near capacity crowd throughout 2015 and look forward to moving in to our brand new 1400 seat home at the Cheshire Oaks Arena in September.“

Cheshire Phoenix is a professional basketball team currently based in Chester. They are members of the British Basketball League (BBL) and played their home games at the Northgate Arena, before moving into the new Cheshire Oaks Arena next season.
