Leeds agency gets creative for Interflora’s ITV ‘Surprise Surprise’ deal
Flower delivery company, Interflora, has landed its first-ever TV sponsorship deal and is
now set on becoming the official sponsor of ITV’s new series of Surprise Surprise, which returns this summer.
The new deal is Interflora’s biggest advertising investment this year, and is part of a much larger strategy to grow awareness of its 1,800-strong local expert florist network.
Interflora creative idents will feature throughout the ITV series, as well as a Christmas special.
Furthermore, each episode – airing on ITV, ITVHD and ITV+1 – will contain multiple Interflora ad spots alongside the 15-second opening idents, 10-second break bumpers and 5-second second closing bumpers.
The upcoming adverts have been developed by Home, a Leeds-based creative agency, with the theme of arranging beautiful surprises for a loved one.
Bethany Day, brand manager at Interflora, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to secure our first TV sponsorship deal. The show, with its focus on surprises, has a perfect synergy with the Interflora brand, which has been surprising and delighting people for more than 90 years. Given we now have a network of 1,800 florists across the UK and Ireland and are able to hand-craft and deliver surprises in just 3 hours, never has this theme been more relevant.”
Chris Moxon of ITV, added: “We’re delighted to be building on our relationship with Interflora by welcoming them on board as the new sponsor of Surprise Surprise. The show couldn’t be a better brand fit for Interflora and we’re excited to be working with them to deliver this partnership.”
Since being re-launch, Surprise Surprise, hosted by Holly Willoughby, has proved to be a popular hit in ITV’s schedule, with last year’s series peaking with 4.2m viewers
The new deal with ITV builds on Interflora’s existing relationship with the show that saw it become its official ‘flower partner’ in 2014, with help from TV personality Mark Wright.
