Motoring expert to boost Nottingham businesses

A Nottingham company has boosted its expertise, strengthening its service for local businesses.

Tim Hulbert has been appointed as the new business development manager at the Volkswagen Van Centre Nottingham. He will working in partnership with companies in the area to help maximize their fleet operational needs.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the automotive sector, Tim has specialised in retail sales and finance having worked with a number of prestigious main dealer franchises. This new role will see him transfer his expertise to the commercial vehicle sector.

Tim said: “I will be working in partnership with both small and large businesses with my area covering Nottingham and extending out to Newark and Lincoln. My aim is to understand their specific needs and assist where I can to improve their fleet operations, ultimately reducing downtime and increasing their profitability.”

David Starr, head of business for Volkswagen Van Centre Nottingham, added: “Previously Tim’s role was covered by our Derby business but, to meet customer demand, a more dedicated role was required. It is great to have him as part of the sales team.”

The business development manager role will provide companies which operate a fleet of vans with a single point of contact for everything they need to manage an efficient operation - whether it be new, used or rental Volkswagen vans through to finance packages or a telematics service to help manage fuel costs and increase vehicle efficiency.

“The Nottingham business only opened in June last year so we are still in our infancy but our performance to date has been very positive.

“As our business area has already expanded we needed a dedicated individual to help grow our fleet division, strengthening our presence across the region, and Tim is the man for the job.”
