Leeds United hires Liverpool’s former club secretary

As Leeds United’s management is still undergoing a major shakeup, the Championship club has just added another key addition to its boardroom staff.

Stuart Hayton, Liverpool’s former club secretary, has been appointed by Leeds under the same role following his summer departure from the Premier League giants, BBC Radio Leeds reports.

Hayton is only the latest major appointment the West Yorkshire club has made since the 2014/15 season finished.

Along with Uwe Rosler being named the new head coach, the club hired Rob Kelly as new assistant and oversaw the return of Adam Pearson, who left an advisory role at Sheffield Wednesday to work alongside Massimo Cellino.

Furthermore, as well as the new addition of Hayton, Leeds are also experiencing a run of good luck financially as well. Just last week Leeds’ controversial owner claimed the club is almost breaking even.

Cellino said: “When I first came in, I had to pay £5m just to keep the club going. By the end of last season, we had lost £22m. Now the forecast is that we are close to break even.”

The Leeds’ loyal fans are preparing for next season as well, as the club recently revealed the sales figures for the 2015/16 season tickets are already higher than they were at this point last year.
