Hotel group launches major recruitment drive for new InterContinental London

In partnership with Greenwich Council, an international hotel group has launched a major recruitment and apprenticeship campaign.

The collaboration with the Royal Borough of Greenwich will see Arora Group provide Greenwich residents with at least 40% of all jobs at the new InterContinental London – The O2.

Arora are recruiting for more than 400 roles including management and operations positions in all departments as well as meetings and events, food and beverage, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, and the spa.

The recruitment process will take place at pre-employment training and interviews facilitated by the Arora Group and GLLaB, the borough’s job brokerage service.

Surinder Arora, CEO and Co-Founder of the Arora Group, said: “At Arora, we are opening our most ambitious leisure and business hotel yet, with London’s largest new event space, so it’s vital we find the right people, with great local knowledge and a customer-focused attitude, to join the team that will put this new hotel firmly on the map.

“Working with GLLaB and the Royal Borough of Greenwich council to secure talent from the local community was a natural choice for us – London is one of the most multicultural centres in the world and we’re looking for people that have a genuine warmth and spirit to give our iconic new InterContinental hotel its personality”.

Councillor Denise Hyland, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “The new InterContinental London – The O2 will significantly add to the landscape of Greenwich Peninsula, adding to the superb facilities that make the area such an attraction for residents and visitors alike.

“The Council has had a long-held vision for Greenwich Peninsula – which has seen the area transformed from a former derelict gas works into one of London’s most exciting destinations, offering thousands of new homes and a host of attractions.

“We are delighted to be working with the Arora Group to deliver fantastic employment and apprenticeship opportunities to local residents who can be part of the area’s incredible transformation.”
