Howco’s Sheffield offices are given the Coda look
Howco Sheffield is to be given a major overhaul and extension in a project led by award-winning local architectural practice Coda Studios.
Howco Group plc is the leading global distributor of raw material for wellhead and completion equipment to the Oil and Gas industry.
With almost 30 years experience, the company now has facilities in the USA, Canada, Norway, Singapore, China and Dubai and is a centre of excellence for processing Steel, Chrome Molly, Duplex, Stainless and Nickel based Alloys.
“We are delighted that Howco selected a Sheffield based company to work on their site,” said architect Jonathan Lovatt.
“This is a multi million pound operation that has a massive impact on the Sheffield economy and we had to design something that reflected that level of excellence and expertise.”
The Coda designs include a major redevelopment of the Carbrook Street offices main entrance area and the creation of a new industrial unit on the site.
“This is all part of Howco’s plans for expansion within the city, it displays their continued commitment to Sheffield and the project will create jobs while the work continues,” said Jonathan.
Andrew Marwood, European Operations director at Howco, added: “Times are challenging at the moment in the oil and gas industry. However, we are preparing for the future.
“We have exhausted how we utilize our ground and building footprint and with ever changing market demands, we aim to exploit all available space, with the goal of increasing our warehouse area by approximately 22,000 sq ft.
“This renovation isn’t just about transforming our facility; it’s time for Howco Sheffield to progress on to the next chapter, where it can pursue its potential for further growth and development.”
