App security: Promon appoint Gustaf Sahlman as CEO
Promon appoint Gustaf Sahlman as CEO
Appointment set to drive global expansion at application security provider
Promon, a leading security specialist, has appointed Gustaf Sahlman as its new CEO. Sahlman has been an existing member of the Promon board since 2009.
Gustaf has over 20 years experience of working with knowledge-intensive, high growth international technology companies, having held senior positions at for example the OMX Group, Polopoly – a globally leading web content management company he also founded – and Expertmaker, an artificial intelligence software company. Gustaf also sits on the board of Firmify, a corporate administration based company.
“It is refreshing to appoint someone who has been so close to what we are trying to achieve as a company”, said Jarl Overby, Chairman of Promon. “Gustaf has the experience, skill-set and personality needed to make Promon into the international force we all believe it will become”.
“To have such talent like Gustaf in the ranks is a real coup for a disruptive brand like Promon “, said Tom Lysemose Hansen, founder and CTO of Promon. “As a business we want to be leading the way in overhauling the application security industry, which is arguably too focused on detection led strategies and has lacked a prevention first approach.”
Gustaf Sahlman added: “It is a great pleasure to take the reins at a company that is dealing in such a hot topic like application security, an industry that is raising its profile as the market focus shifts to the Internet of Things and Bring Your Own Device.
The opportunity ahead for Promon is huge, but to seize it, we must build on Promon’s unique proprietary software so that we can grow the company to operate not just in Europe, but also globally and consolidate our position as a major player in the app security sector “, Sahlman concluded.
