Cramlington's Miller secures £1m deal

Global attachment provider Miller, which heads up its UK operations from Cramlington, Northumberland, has secured a £1m order from rental solution provider Hewden to supply a range of hydraulic breakers.

The deal will see more than 180 breakers added to Hewden’s attachment portfolio for use with its range of excavators (1.5-ton to 22-ton) from the 1st July 2015.

Miller’s hydraulic breaker offers a high quality solution for customers looking for a high performance, reliable product and will be the first to market to include both an automated lubrication system on the entire range, and a tracking device to locate if misplaced onsite, or stolen.

Miller also designed a bespoke head bracket, exclusively for Hewden, which will allow the mounting of Miller breakers to both Caterpillar and JCB machines in their large fleet.

Mike Askew, Managing Director at Miller, said: “As a company we invest heavily in R&D to bring new product innovations to our forward thinking customers. From our first meeting with Hewden, we knew that we had an innovative solution in the pipeline that could add real value to our business proposition.”

Adrian Murphy, CEO at Hewden, said: “We have worked closely with the Miller team to provide Hewden customers with not only the safest breakers on the market, but a range that adds real value to the onsite solution they provide.

“Our in-house Engineering team have worked around the clock to develop safe and effective products that not only meet Hewden’s specific requirements but will minimise downtime and enhance machine productivity.”
